Yehe: The Forgotten Political Giant.

~Adoga Stephen Yehe  is a community in the Western part of Yala local government of cross river state. The community constitutes one of the highest voting strengths in the entire Yala and regarded as a business hub of the region; the entire LG. Yehe community has been a  hospitable abode for foreigners such as Igbo's, Hausa's, Yoruba's, etc for many years. It is a place of peace with a set of lovely people who are absolute respecters of the constitution. The community  has a traditional institution headed by the clan head who is addressed as "Ogamode" and supported by elders-in- council. Yehe community is in the middle of Yala LGA bounded by  Ebo, Ijiraga, Ukelle North and South. It has one of the biggest hospitals(Lutheran) in the entire LGA  which serves as a point of medical reach to neighboring communities, even up to Ebony State but has been unfortunately abandoned and functioning below capacity. The hospital lacks major equipment to carter...

THE LEADERSHIP QUESTION IN YAHE WARD.

~Egbara Emmanuel. No rocket science is needed to detect that the leadership in Yahe ward of the Yala Local Govern ment area is in accident and emergency ward. The simple reason is that, things are not just working for one of the largest political wards in Cross river state . Clearly, strong hearted, patriotic, courageous and selfless people are no more in the saddle. It appears everyone, including those in leadership who ought to work for the people are selfishly working for their good and that of their families, in-laws and concubines. This, we have lamented over the years with little or no meaningful result. Our case is pathetic in that, many who have been in leadership for 12 uninterrupted years and counting, without tangible result, have being the one calling the shots at all levels of leadership including the most local level. For many, leadership is a family affair. Their positions are about the most sensitive, yet there are agitations among the people over bad repres...

Ogar Emmanuel in his characteristics way of pointing it blank where he finds loophole has taken a swipe on the person of DC Enamhe of imposing a candidate on the NACRISS WW elections. Ogar, accused DC of using his power as a respected personnel in the state and in northern Cross River state to favor his kinsman from bekwarra against other candidates nursing similar ambition. Read his full post below as posted on Facebook and obtained by Saint's blog: This is DC Enamhe. A fine man. Smart and intelligent. He's nursing political ambition to topple Hon.   Legor Idagbo . His major supporters are young men from Yala. He says he's always thinking Cross River. I strongly beg to disagree with him.   Since fortnight ago, I've received complaints and distress calls from hapless Nigerian students (Cross River State students ) concerning the interference from   the man in question. He has called for meetings and as I was told mandated the electoral commission (el...

Media Activist. Concerned media Activist in Yala local government Area of the Northern senatorial district of Cross river state have appealed to Stakeholders in the Educational sector in the state to come to their aid by renovating and upgrading government owned schools in Yahe community . WHY THEY IS NEED TO INJECT NEW BLOOD AS SENATOR TO REPRESENT CR NORTHERN SENATORIAL DISTRICT

As the state is prime to start another political journey in no distance time, commentators, analysts, sycophants, gossips, pipers and other political pundits have all developed cold feet to comment on the next plan of actions by the main actors of the game. This is perhaps because a few who are occupying office(s) want to consolidate the position or move to a higher position and majority who are playing behind the scene want to join the caravan. So, some who comment on social issues are aloof because of the fear of the unknown. However, people say : what is constant in life is change. (Change) in itself is opposed to the word (constant) so the two concepts are at variance to each other . Why all the allegories above ? I belong to the league of analysts who believe that there is nothing that is 'too good'  that can not be improved upon. I have listened and read from sycophants in their different write ups about the performance of Senators who have represented Northern Senato...

Yala Founded Ogoja : Therefore, the need for socio-political unity!

        -  imaji jio ufumaka =============== Writing a yala story is like writing about the history of languages, beginning with the Tower of Babel in the Christian Holy Book(Bible). Some of my readers have accused me of writing lengthy stuff. I agree. Yet not a few claim that they are compelled by my compelling story spell to read to the end. With all modesty, I say. To both divide, I am both honored and encouraged. But what I often explain to my critics is that most of my writings are essays, based on true happenings. They are not news reels. Neither are they tit-bits. So, tighten up your belt for yet another intellectual & historical drills ! My submission herein is not sacrosanct.  Any one who has a different but concrete opinion should kindly write in. We all learn new things every day ! The Yala people were NOT originally so called. The ogoja people were NOT originally so called, either. Even the Akunakuna people were NOT historically so...

"GONE ARE THOSE DAYS" We now have our own.

A FACET OF "DE-LITE" BRINGS TO YOU Legally, Rights are legal, social or ethical principles of freedom or entitlement; that is; rights are fundamental normative rules about what is allowed of people or owned to people. It is in view of this that I want to bring to the notice of my land, my home and people of Yahe, that gone are the eras where people are intimidated and deprived of their right, gone are the time that my people's property are taken from them by force and no one could fight for them, gone are the days when our  business men and women struggled to get their businesses registered but couldn't find the right channel or person and may end up falling into the wrong hand, gone are the era when my people find it very difficult or too expensive to get a lawyer to defend them, gone  are the era where, your land are been taken from you by those that considered themselves powerful, gone are those days where the defenseless are been silent by the powerful due ...

HOW CHIEF JUSTICE WALTER S. N. ONNOGHEN AND CHIEF VICTOR NDOMA-EGBA SCUTTLED UNICAL'S 28TH JULY, 1995 SUG ELECTIONS.

TheScribe is on it again— unearthing fact from the archive. It pleases us in bringing the past closer to the present. That's why we're bringing the above your way. The present and the future are phases of life that rests heavily on the shoulder of history. The role (s) played by actors in the past are often forgotten; though recorded by time and somehow unearthed by sundry vicissitudes as TheScribe stumbled on the aforesaid. Let it roll! In 1995, the election into the nine offices of the Students' Union Government (SUG) in the University of Calabar was scheduled for 28th July, 1995 by the then electoral umpire, the Calabar University Electoral Commission (CUECO) and approved by University's authority. Few days to the D-day, the commission disqualified one of the acclaimed frontline contenders aspiring for the Union's top job as president.  He was a 300Level student of the Faculty of Law. An indigene of Cross River State by the name: Eja, Esege Elemi. Enrage...

A GIFT OF FLOWER TO THE IKABA FOUNDATION

"No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members are poor and miserable ". " To feel much for others and little for ourselves; to restrain our selfishness and exercise our benevolent affections constitute the perfection of human nature ". The above quotes by one of the greatest thinkers ever lived;  a journalist and world acclaimed father of the science of political economy,  Adam Smith are certainly poised  to create the path in which readers of this piece would be strolling upon as it relates to the humanitarian services of Ikaba Foundation in an egalitarian society like ours. To that extent, it delights me to take the lead. In a while, the Ikaba Foundation, a child brain of the State Security Advisor (Adviser), SSA to governor of Cross River State, Mr. Jude Ngaji has, since its inception, made tremendous impact on the health, academics and economic well-being of most residents and indigenes of Cross River St...

Why Declan Ogar Genesis is a Fit for the Job, TheScribe xray

YALA LGA ELECTIONS : DECLAN OGAR-GENESIS IN FOCUS As the countdown to the 2017 Cross River State local government elections continue to generate bubbles,  TheScribe with its radar in continuation of beaming its searchlight at the aspirants/candidates vying for the most coveted LGA position is once again here with the image on the radar screen. Our focus at this juncture is Mr. Declan Ogar-Genesis. Frequent users of social media, precisely facebook would agree with TheScribe that on daily basis, the airwaves is continually flooded with campaign pictures and pre-electoral manifestos which Declan's pictures and promises during his consultations are equally causing online gridlock. In every election, they're pretenders and contenders — and one thing that differentiate them is the level of seriousness demonstrated by them. If seriousness is a factor one should consider in knowing who's prepared in contesting election, then Mr. Declan is indeed ready. His readiness and p...
