Why Declan Ogar Genesis is a Fit for the Job, TheScribe xray

YALA LGA ELECTIONS : DECLAN OGAR-GENESIS IN FOCUS
As the countdown to the 2017 Cross River State local government elections continue to generate bubbles,  TheScribe with its radar in continuation of beaming its searchlight at the aspirants/candidates vying for the most coveted LGA position is once again here with the image on the radar screen. Our focus at this juncture is Mr. Declan Ogar-Genesis.

Frequent users of social media, precisely facebook would agree with TheScribe that on daily basis, the airwaves is continually flooded with campaign pictures and pre-electoral manifestos which Declan's pictures and promises during his consultations are equally causing online gridlock.

In every election, they're pretenders and contenders — and one thing that differentiate them is the level of seriousness demonstrated by them. If seriousness is a factor one should consider in knowing who's prepared in contesting election, then Mr. Declan is indeed ready.

His readiness and preparedness ranges from his academic qualification and capacity added value of experience. Declan is an alumni of the famous University of Calabar. He's a sociologist by training and a criminologist in the making.

Prior to his appointment as the Special Assistant to the governor, Prof. Ben Ayade on Youth Affairs since 2015, he was a  personnel of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and an active member of the 2015 general elections PDP media/publicity committee. At that time, he played the role of 'Squealer', a secondary antagonist of Napoleon.

As it were then, he was a squealer in Ayade media team. Squealer is a fictional character in George Orwell's magnum opus, Animal Farm. A role he played so well that on social media, he was dubbed as the minister of propaganda. TheScribe would gladly described him as the cosmetic social media aide of Ayade.

Declan Ogar-Genesis is the joker in the contest. He's a young man that's unafraid of challenges. A dogged and self-motivated fighter that never relent until he achieves whatever he set to get. He heads De-Genesis Communication and Genesis Photos International Ltd.

During his undergraduate days, he was actively involved in students' unionism and youths activism. In the business of pen pushing, he was a fine campus pressman. He cut his teeth in some of the most vibrant Press outfits such as Echo Press Organization; Socioscope, Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students  (NFCS) press board and the Nigeria Union of Campus Journalists (NUCJ). Also, he was the Sole Administrator of National Association of Yala Local Government Students (NAYLOGS) and Secretary General, Faculty of Social Science Students Association  (SOSSA).

His high level of activism both off and in school connected him with likes minds and they jointly established many youths related organizations such as Cross River State Coalition for Change  (CRSCFC); youth Connect International and Cross River State Progressive People's Forum (NCRSPPF) among others. He's the publisher of the defunct ParadiseVoice, an online media platform used in 2015 in publicizing Sen. Ben Ayade.

Politically, he isn't a pushover in the race for the chairmanship position. He's close to the governor and other stakeholders in his party. However,  TheScribe is hearing from reliable sources that his boss (Ayade) isn't being fair with him.

Among the 8-council wards in Yala, he's from Ugaga ward. Since the creation of the local government area in 1991 by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Ugaga ward hasn't been able to produce substantive executive chairman of the local government. Albeit, when barracks boys,  sorry when military struck, Caretaker Committee was constituted in 1994 to the dawn of 1995 and was then supervised by Hon. Declan J. Ogar who equally comes from Ugaga ward.

His major challenges are his emaciated financial muscle; himself and the ward he's coming from as candidate when taken into consideration in terms of which ward has benefitted or has not. Besides the aforesaid, he's good to go.

Ayi! Ayi-yala. Behold your chairmanship aspirant, Mr. Declan Ogar-Genesis (DOG). He's vying for the position under the platform of PDP.

Next on the radar is Mr. Paul Ofana Odey from Olachor Okpoma.

REVISITING THE PATH OF AN ACHIEVER: HON. GABE UGOR, THE JUDAS ISCARIOT OF THE NORTH

Due to the vicissitudes of this juncture as triggered by the force of 2019 political uncertainty in our nation, Nigeria, a lot of political particles have been energized for their ultimate interest which is not alien to our kind of politics. Obama: Unedited Farewell Speech in Chicago.

Here is an unedited transcript of President Obama’s prepared remarks during his farewell address in Chicago, as provided by the White House. --- It’s good to be home.  My fellow Americans, Michelle and I have been so touched by all the well-wishes we’ve received over the past few weeks.  But tonight it’s my turn to say thanks.  Whether we’ve seen eye-to-eye or rarely agreed at all, my conversations with you, the American people – in living rooms and schools; at farms and on factory floors; at diners and on distant outposts – are what have kept me honest, kept me inspired, and kept me going.  Every day, I learned from you.  You made me a better president, and you made me a better man. I first came to Chicago when I was in my early 20s, still trying to figure out who I was; still searching for a purpose to my life.  It was in neighborhoods not far from here where I began working with church groups in the shadows of closed steel mills.  It ...

MAKING YALA GREAT AGAIN

Fortnights ago, in one of my penultimate articles titled; YALA LGA POLITICS IN FOCUS: A CHRONICLE Of ITS POLITICAL TRAJECTORY, where I attempted to straighten a sloppy contour in Yala political delineation based on available statistics. I inaccurately wrote that Mr. Omaga Odo the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Cross River State chapter Secretary was from O’oh councilward; rather, he’s from Okpoma ward. Again, the write-up portrayed Gabu and Yache as unit ward. There’re actually autonomous wards of their own. Also, I mistakenly omitted Wanikade ward from the list of wards in constituency II. The error and omission are highly regrettable and no harm whatsoever conceived or intended. As June 17 approaches, a lot of political blitzes are ongoing— consultation, enlightenment campaign, permutation, and scheme and gimmick to woo the electorate and court the courtesy of some monopolistic politicians. Varied interests are building up in different directions. Some are in line with zoning par...
