OSGRAM: Cross River Activist Urge Government to Upgrade Owned Schools.

Concerned media Activist in Yala local government Area of the Northern senatorial district of Cross river state have appealed to Stakeholders in the Educational sector in the state to come to their aid by renovating and upgrading government owned schools in Yahe community .

The affected schools are the St.John primary School and the only government owned secondary Grammar school, the oldest school in the council ward , built through community efforts and changed to Government owned Institutions in the 70s.

This came on a hill of a media(Facebook) post by one Mr Adoga Stephen, an old students of the school crying on the dilapidated buildings which has become a ghost of its self. Signaling on the many reactions from well meaning sons and daughters of the community and old students of the institution that the school need urgent repair seeing the state it is in the picture published.

The media Activist said the schools need urgent attention of the state government due to their bad condition,students are currently taking lessons under trees due to lack of classrooms while rainstorm has destroyed many school buildings making them inhabitable.

"The schools need renovation and upgrade. Government should build additional blocks of classrooms, offices and also provide enough tables and chairs to make teaching and learning conducive in the schools."

He said the primary schools were accommodating a large number of pupils, who depend solely on them for their primary education in the area.

MonkeyPox: Hon Bravo Calls for Vigilance

08 October 2017. Abuja Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon Gabriel Bravo Oluohu, has called for heightened vigilance and intensified awareness efforts on symptoms of Monkey pox following the outbreak of the deadly disease in some parts of the Country. The Honourable Supervisory Councillor made the call in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Mr.Ogar Dominic , Special assistant on Media and Public Relations. The Honourable supervisory councilor advised health care providers and members of the public, to report any sign of illness to public health officials. He said in response to the announcement by Bayelsa state on confirmed cases of Monkey pox , government had directed health officials, to step up inspection activities. Dominic Ogbaji from Cross River chops his elder brother to death.

Dominic Ogbaji, a 22-year-old indigene of Cross River State, killed his elder bSunnewsonlinear-old John Ogbaji, while he was asleep, for allegedly failing to give him pocket money. The incident occurred on the 2nd of November 2016 at Ajegunle in Mpape Village, FCT Abuja. Dominic who worked as a barber in his village, due to the fact that he was not earning enough relocated to Abuja in search of a better life. He allegedly went to Abuja to live with his sister but she referred him to his brother. According to Dominic’s testimony, he informed his brother, John, that he wanted a job, but he was not able to get him one. He claimed that life became difficult for him as he said that asides feeding him, John was not giving him pocket money. On the night of November 2nd, John gave Dominic N60 to buy bread and pure water which they had for dinner.
