Give in 50% of your empowerment to build Christ the King's Church Okpoma Solomon Island tells Sen.Rose Oko

According to Wikipedia, the Catholic Church, also known as the Roman Catholic Church, is the largest Christian church, with more than 1.299 billion members worldwide. As one of the oldest religious institutions in the world, it has played a prominent role in the history and development of Western civilisation.

The Catholic social teaching, reflecting the concern Jesus showed for the impoverished, places a heavy emphasis on the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, namely the support and concern for the sick, the poor, the afflicted and support for the growth of the church. Church teaching calls for a preferential option for the poor while canon law prescribes that "The Christian faithful are also obliged to promote social justice and, mindful of the precept of the Lord, to assist the poor and church to grow.

Christ the King Catholic Church, Ochubi Okpoma in Yala LGA which is the home of Senator Rose Oko has become an eye sore because the local church community had tried severally in the past to complete the project but couldn't due to unavailability of resources.

Authentic records available to us shows that Chief Patrick Odey Odo, General Tony Ukpo (Rtd), Hon. John Ogar Odey, Senator Greg Ikaba Ngaji, Prince Odu Odey and others had contributed monies in the past towards the completion of the church project but Senator Rose Okoji Oko has neither contributed a kobo nor asked the local church community the state of the abandoned project

Senator Rose Okoji Oko is a devout Catholic and a respected member of the Christian Women Organization (CWO), so if she wants to do anything for her community who are predominantly Catholics, she should as a matter of urgency take up a reasonable challenge in the ongoing  project instead of boring the people with her funny keke Napep, refurbished jeeps, garri grinding machines and twenty thousand naira empowerment.

The building has been there for years crying for attention even with the initial attempts by a few individuals to complete the new one under construction which is still a shadow of itself. If she had put in fifty percent of what she has been wasting all over the place in the name of feeble empowerment utensils people would have applauded with high accolades.

Please somebody should tell her that the church is supposed to be a sign and instrument of the great things God is doing in our world and God has been too merciful to her for her to abandon the development of the project.
