Work has started to remove Buhari~Obasanjo

Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that ‘work’ has started towards the removal of President Muhammadu Buhari in the upcoming 2019 elections. PoliticsNGR gathered that while speaking to members of his Coalition for Nigeria movement(CNM), Obasanjo pointed out that God who helped Nigeria against the government of late Sani Abacha will come to Nigeria’s aid in 2019. He said; “Some people believe that those that are in position, whether they are doing well or not, they must continue to be there. But when we say they must not only be there, they will want to fight back. They will hold many things to wreak havoc, but everybody must be prepared. It will not be easy to wrest powers from them. If you think it will be easy to liberate Nigeria, you are deceiving yourself. But the God that did it yesterday will do it again today. Remember a particular leader who had a desire to transmit from military uniform to elected president. We had a situation that we had five political p...

Comparison: CALABAR IS CROSS RIVER BUT CROSS RIVER IS NOT CALABAR Mc Martiki vent her anger.

Facebook: MaryColette Martiki Capital of a state is always important but when the concentration of governance and development is always situated there alone then it gets some region walloped. Read what this Ogoja creative writer and social media fanatics has to say about Calabar, Akwa Ibom, Ogoja et'al. "Have you been to anywhere in Cross River State apart from Calabar? Do you know or have you heard of certain places called Ogoja, Ikom, Obudu, Boki or Bekwarra. All through my service year, just like many indigenes of northern Cross River, I was forced to repeatedly introduce myself and end by reenforcing that I am a Cross Riverian yet I am not a Calabar girl.  In most cases after I have tried to describe Ogoja, I end up using the cheap point of "the people trying to create a state" and in that instant, they know where I am from.  As pathetic as it sounds, that's the only way I can make someone remember my place. I guess it's easier for an Ikom...

June 12: A triumph of natural justice

The best thing to have happened to Nigeria in her 19 years of democratic dispensation is the proclamation of June 12 as a public holiday by President Muhammadu Buhari, to commemorate Chief MKO Abiola for the supreme price he and many other Nigerians paid in the struggle to entrench democracy and civil rule as a norm in our country. The election that was generally acclaimed to be the freest and fairest in Nigeria’s contemporary history was annulled by the military regime. With nostalgia, one recalls that this particular election survived all the barriers of our fault lines as a nation. The dimension of the conspiracy against the June 12, 1993 presidential election was greater than the self-styled evil genius, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, whose military regime “arrested” the result and thereby created a political impasse unprecedented in our political history. Therefore, the declaration is highly commendable not only because it has come as a response to the yearnings of a majority of...

The House, while adopting the motion, said available records showed that there are massive deductions of up to 50 percent in the salary of policemen. THE POLITICAL ADIABATIC STINT OF RT.HON. LARRY ODEY AS ACTING GOVERNOR: A WASTED OPPORTUNITY TO THE YALA NATION.

Nowadays, I've changed in such an appealing fashion of not picking to pieces or deride personalities whom by God's grace or providentially ascended some high and lofty positions or being entrusted with the peoples' mandate of carrying out certain tasks— albeit elective or appointive portfolio. This I resolved for personal reasons. Be it as it may, I've infrequently in diverse circumstances and times attempted buying a pig in a poke which many of my readers mistaken me for a critic. Well, if by any means, my pellucid and candid opinions and critical observations criticizes any fellow, then such a person remains criticized. In a nutshell, the person in which this extrapolation piece focuses on, personally invited me to join his gubernatorial campaign organization prior to 2015 general elections and I can vaunt by saying devoid of mincing words that I did contribute my quota in no small measure to the team. But the principalities in government decided otherwise and ...

An open letter to Yala youths~Don’t Lose Friendships Over Politicians.

To permit politics to dictate your relationships is to give strangers who care nothing about you more power than they deserve. So many people I know are getting into Facebook fights, Twitter wars, Instagram arguments, and Snapchat squabbles. What begins as an ideological dispute ends in bitterness. People are provoking others, demanding those who do or don’t support their candidate leave their networks, cutting ties with friends and family, and all because of political differences. I can’t even imagine what the Thanksgiving table will be like this year! People perceive the stakes this year to be that high. To be sure, political philosophy does matter and does carry high stakes.  However, the partisan struggle for the control of the state apparatus by this or that temporary manager doesn’t matter as much as election season seems to suggest. You might be being manipulated, and friendships and families are actually too precious to throw away for transient reasons. It’...
