UNIOSUN students divert #2bn to MMM.

The authority of the University of Osun had decried debt owed by students in various academic programmes of the institution. He made this known in a press briefing attributing it to the ponzi scheme, MMM. He also said the institution was kind enough to allow students pay part of their school fees due to the lingering economic status but have taken full advantage of the privilege. “The University has decided to call this press conference to educate and enlighten the stakeholders in particular and the public in general about the financial position of the Osun State University. “Osun State University, being a public institution, is financed from grants from the State government and she also heavily relies on school fees from its students and other Internally Generated Revenues. Obama: Unedited Farewell Speech in Chicago.

Here is an unedited transcript of President Obama’s prepared remarks during his farewell address in Chicago, as provided by the White House. --- It’s good to be home.  My fellow Americans, Michelle and I have been so touched by all the well-wishes we’ve received over the past few weeks.  But tonight it’s my turn to say thanks.  Whether we’ve seen eye-to-eye or rarely agreed at all, my conversations with you, the American people – in living rooms and schools; at farms and on factory floors; at diners and on distant outposts – are what have kept me honest, kept me inspired, and kept me going.  Every day, I learned from you.  You made me a better president, and you made me a better man. I first came to Chicago when I was in my early 20s, still trying to figure out who I was; still searching for a purpose to my life.  It was in neighborhoods not far from here where I began working with church groups in the shadows of closed steel mills.  It ...

THE HYPOCRISY OF NIGERIAN MEDIA..

BY:Egbara Emmanuel. Let me begin by stating that all in the world is not as you have been told, the greatest lies that have ruin the world are filtered from the media houses especially the ones bought by the conscience of cabals to deceive the world. The old saying that "truth is stranger than fiction" couldn't be more accurate, for we have been deceived on such a grand scale that most would have a difficult time in comprehending the full extent, let me briefly bring in the scenerio of the chibok girls that out of all the girls kidnapped no one can speak  English Language, non is from any community except chibok community, that the daughter of the principal among the over 200 girls was not kidnapped, that now the principal is a commissioner for Education in the same state, let me stop here before I get derailed from my focus. The behind the scenes machinations of big lies and politics are so well hidden from most of the population, that if people actually knew how th...

How we selected beneficiaries of #5000 stipends---Presidency

Senior Special Assistant to VP Yemi Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, has explained how the Presidency picked beneficiaries of the N5000 stipend for vulnerable Nigerians. Akande in the statement released yesterday, said the Community-Based Targeting (CBT) model of the World Bank was used in 2015 to identify most of the beneficiaries. According to Akande, the vulnerable Nigerians had been picked by the last administration during an exercise carried out by World bank which was certainly devoid of any manipulations or fraud. Akande said in eight of the nine pilot states, the process had taken place at least two years ago through the World Bank-supported programme under an agreement entered into with the state governments. “This is an entirely fair and transparent process and short of mischief, there is no way you can describe this process as partisan. The president is president of the entire country and the SIPs are for all Nigerians as the case may be. First, the off...

He charged President Buhari to re-shuffle his cabinet and ensure that the right people with their expertise are placed in the right places. “Mr. President must galvanise his team to get the job done; square pegs in round holes must be removed or put in appropriate places; the wicked who surround the righteous must be led away from the presence of the king. Those who cannot stand the heat must get out of the kitchen. It is time to demonstrate leadership, wise judgment and astute public policy that guarantees stable and prosperous nationhood upon a foundation of peace.  It is time to build a well-ordered nation with strong institutions dispensing justice. CHIBOKGIRLS: The Painful Memories by Ezekwsili

On that  30 th  April  2014 when diverse citizens gathered to march in solidarity, no one could have imagined that any out of our 219 Chibok Girls abducted from their secondary school in April 2014 would remain  in captivity  of terrorists 1000 days after the tragedy. One recalls  pictures of distressed parents  supported by local hunters foraging through the path they were told that the terrorists had hauled away their daughters. Meanwhile, their government was missing in action cynically indifferent to the cries for he lp. One of the parents said  he was desperate to find his daughter by walking off into Sambisa Forest before the Nigeria Army prevented  them, because the  future of the entire family depended on that daughter finishing school and taking c are of her siblings.  How can we not be moved by such decisiveness on girls education in a region that topped both then and now, the chart of poor school enrollmen...
