Children’s Day: Hon.Gabriel Brick Encourages Children to Work hard To Be Achievers.

Children in Abuja Metropolis have been told to work hard to be achievers whose impact would help to end violence and restore peace to Nigeria .

This charge was given today by the  FCT Supervisory councillor for Health Hon.Gabriel Bravo Oluohu at the National Children’s Day celebration organised by AMAC .

Hon.Bravo lamented that children of this generation have witnessed so much violence compared to those of the previous generation.

He explained that casting his mind back at her childhood and the innocent bliss they all enjoyed, it was with a heavy heart that he watched the match past and prayed that peace be restored to all parts of the world so that children can experience the peace they deserve.

While stressing that this year’s Children’s Day celebration is marked with the theme; ‘ ’Protect the right of the child in the face of insecurity’’ he emphasized the need for all citizens to work together to end all forms of violence and injustice to children.

Hon.Bravo disclosed that the day is a happy day because it is a joyful one for the children worldwide. He urged parents to do more in taking care ofd their children.

He commended the current administration for fully embracing the children of the FCT. According to him,the administration have achieved and done a lot in enhancing child security by liaising with relevant agencies in the last two year.

He stated that this effort has led to a significant reduction in the rate of crimes against children.

He also called on the Government at all levels to formulate policies that will improve the living conditions, health care needs and educational development of children. Recalling the history of Children’s Day celebration which dates back to 1964, he stated that it is a day to show children love and give them a sense of belonging dignity and honour.

He urged children to shun all forms of vices and avoid bad groups which can make them commit crimes. He also urged the children to work hard in their studies so they can be good leaders of tomorrow.

Yehe: The Forgotten Political Giant.

~Adoga Stephen Yehe  is a community in the Western part of Yala local government of cross river state. The community constitutes one of the highest voting strengths in the entire Yala and regarded as a business hub of the region; the entire LG. Yehe community has been a  hospitable abode for foreigners such as Igbo's, Hausa's, Yoruba's, etc for many years.
